When the CW announced in late 2011/early 2012 that this project was going forward, many-the fans of 'Smallville'-wanted Justin Hartley, who had played Oliver Queen well in that reimaging of the Clark Kent legend-to be brought back for this series.īut what showrunner Greg Berlanti was putting together with this project was far different in terms of image and complications within the story. That does not mean that the lesser-known heroes will get short shrift on the smaller screen-in fact, it has allowed DC Entertainment a certain amount of artistic freedom with the TV projects.
